IPL 2020 : Preview & Predictions ( Part 1 )

Hello Guys,

Two days from here, and we will be into the biggest cricket festival.

IPL 2020!!!!!

A season that will always be remembered for the time it has kept us waiting.

6 months… 6 terrible months of Covid-19 pandemic and that too without a single game of cricket.

So let’s discuss what’s in the box for us this time!!!!!

The first prediction from my side is the teams that will reach the qualifiers ->

1. Chennai Super Kings

2. Mumbai Indians

3. Delhi Capitals

4. Sunrisers Hyderabad

So let’s discuss a bit about these 4 teams in this blog.

Chennai Super Kings ->

A team whose USP is investing in people. This season too they will be relying on their old but experienced horses.

You will hardly find youngsters in this team, which is their biggest strength at the same time it can turn out to be their weakness as well.

Not to forget they don’t have great fielders in their side compare to what’s the caliber of this side is.

In T-20 cricket you desperately want to be a good fielding side to get and edge over your opponent.

The team highly relies on MS Dhoni, Watson, Faf du Plessis, Jadhav and Rayudu on the batting front.

However, I believe they have got a real good bowling line up this team. The only point is they should give chances to their young foreign pacers.

Tahir, Jadeja, Chawla, Santner and Karn Sharma make a dangerous spin bowling attack.

They have a brilliant seam bowling line up in Chahar, Bravo, Thakur, Ngidi, Sam Curran and Hazelwood.

Their only issue is to select which are their best 4 foreign players

You can read a bit more about them in a detailed blog mentioned below:

Will CSK Emerge As Champion Despite All The Chaos

Mumbai Indians ->

Mumbai Indian appears to be the strongest team on paper.

They have the best Indian star players in Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Pandya Brothers.

They are also the most consistent side over the last few years getting a trophy every alternate season.

The only weakness I can find is there spin bowling department. If Rahul Chahar fails to deliver, they will be in a spot of bother.

Delhi Capitals ->

Delhi Capitals is packed with quality Indian Players.

Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant and Prithvi Shaw make the top order look really dangerous.

Addition of Rahane and Ravi Ashwin makes the leadership group also stronger which they were lacking last year.

Sunrisers Hyderabad ->

Sunrisers Hyderabad are the best bowling line up of IPL for the last 5-6 years.

They keep on defending totals of 140-150 every time.

Rashid Khan, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar along with Nabi contribute almost evey time.

David Warner, Jonny Bairstow and Kane Williamson make their top order super heavy.

Predictions ->

2. MS Dhoni will be on full fire as he has no more national responsibility on his shoulders.

2. Rahane might not get even a single game due to the already power packed Delhi line up.

3. Most of the teams will rely on their leg spinners considering spin friendly tracks and bigger boundaries.

4. Mumbai Indians will feel the lack of good spinners in UAE conditions.
