IPL 2020 : Week 7

Hello Guys,

2020 is one of it’s own kind and things have been really unique throughout this year.

So is the case with IPL 2020.

The league stage of much awaited IPL 2020 is almost done.

However, we still don’t know who will be the 4 teams qualifying for the playoffs with just two league games left in the tournament.

The Match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals will decide at least one of the teams to qualify.

The loser of this game will still have some hopes if they don’t lose by a huge margin.

On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad will go straight in if they win their last league match against Mumbai Indians.

Kolkata Knight Riders are still waiting to see if their Net Run Rate remains higher than the loser of RCB vs DC game.

Quite a complex equation which is still giving hopes to 5 teams.

Let’s have a quick look at the report of all the 8 teams.

Report Card of Week 7 ->

RCB -> Win – 0 Loss – 2

MI -> Win – 2 Loss – 0

DC -> Win – 0 Loss – 2

KKR – > Win – 1 Loss – 2

CSK -> Win – 2 Loss – 0

SRH -> Win – 2 Loss – 0

KXIP -> Win – 1 Loss – 2

RR -> Win – 1 Loss – 1

Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals showed their real potential this week but fell short of qualifying.

Kings XI Punjab lost their two important games after winning 5 in a trot.

Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore kept performing consistently throughout the season before losing 3 and 4 consecutive matches respectively.

Now, they meet against each other in a virtual quarter final.

While there were a few impactful performances this week but the stand out performers were Ruturaj Gaikwad and Wriddhimaan Saha.

Ruturaj Gaikwad has now made three consecutive fifties in three games after a horrible start in the tournament.

Wriddhimaan Saha too, stood up to the cause and replaced Jonny Bairstow.

He got an amazing 87 in his first match and is now looking in some serious touch.

Let’s see which teams will go on to reach qualifiers from here.
