India vs Australia ODIs : How Things Went

Hello Guys,

Even though Team India lost this series one sided in the first two games itself, there are quite a few positives to be taken out of this series.

With a pretty tiring IPL and quite a few big players out due to injury, it was very evident that the series will be a tough task for the men in blue.

However, by the end of series they might be a bit happy to take the momentum in their favor before the T20Is and Tests.

So, what was the biggest positive for Team India in this series??

Hardik Pandya without any doubt.

This is for the first time he played as a genuine batsman and he delivered like never before.

His innings of 90 in the first game and then an unbeaten 92 in the final game were quite enough to show his potential as a batsman.

Even though he is suffering from a sore back he went to bowl a few crucial overs in the second game.

Ravindra Jadeja is going from strength to strength for the last two years.

Specially, he has improved a lot with the bat.

Today, he also showed how crucial he becomes with the ball when there is something to offer in the pitch.

Who doubts Virat Kohli’s skills in Australia??

As always he has delivered with his knocks of 89 and 63. He again proved why Australia is his favourite place to bat.

India will also be happy with their pacers.

Mohammed Shami was quite consistent in the first two games while Jasprit Bumrah got his rhythm back in the last game.

But what more important was the performance of Debutant T. Natarajan grabbing 2 big scalps in his first game and delivering some terrific yorkers in the end.

Also, Shardul Thakur was really impressive with his 3-Wicket Spell that made things quite easy for the team.

Amongst all these positives, there were a few negatives as well.

1. Shreyas Iyer didn’t perform at all in the three games.

2. KL Rahul could have done a lot better with the bat.

3. Yuzvendra Chahal was really flat in the first two games.

4. Most important of all, we lacked energy in fielding and missed a lot of chances.

Whether it was Jadeja or Hardik missing the target or Shikhar Dhawan dropping crucial catch, all these ended up costing a lot.

Fielding is something that you always take pride in and thus it should have been a lot better.

Having said that, even after all those mistakes, Team India bounced back really well and seized crucial moments really well.

So now, looking forward to the T – 20 games……
