Hello Guys,
Fairy tales have always been a part of Cricket. Whether it’s the story of MS Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravi Bishnoi or Shafali Verma.
But, there’s something really special about Natarajan’s Story….
2nd December 2020 – ODI Debut.
4th December 2020 – T20I Debut.
15th January 2021 – Test Debut.

And that’s how Natarajan’s life changed completely.
He made his Debut in all three formats of the game in the course of just 44 days and on a single tour.
He is the first man globally to do so.
But things were not so easy for Thangarasu Natarajan or T. Natarajan as he is popularly called.
You don’t see many players in India making a debut at the age of 29 and this guy eventually went on to make debut in all three formats which is quite remarkable.
Interestingly, he was never selected as a main player, he was selected as a net bolwer.
His name was not in the first team at all and got selected because Varun Chakrawarthy got injured.
Son of a daily wage construction labourer would have never thought to get such a fame within a small span of time.
He was first selected by Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2017 as he impressed everyone with his death bowling in TNPL where he represented Dindigul Dragons.
He Was touted as India’s Mustafizur Rehman as he was really difficult to pick specially in death overs.
But things didn’t start well for him here as well….
IPL 2020 was actually the first edition where he got good enough chances and performed well.
He was so good in the death that Sunrisers Hyderabad never felt the absence of Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

From there, he hasn’t looked back at all.
Nobody would have ever imagined seeing him in Test arena but destiny had it’s own plans.
Indian team lost as many as 5 front line pacers in Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
This led to the selection of Natarajan in the final test where he performed really well again.

Who would have thought a guy from Chinnappampatti, a hamlet near Salem would get so much fame within 6 months that now he has a Tamil Movie on his story.
India have found a death over specialist in him and considering next two T-20 World Cups, he would be a serious prospect to look after.
So, did you find his journey quite special??

His Yorker is mind-blowing. But mainly what inspires more about him is his debut in 29 years and how he used his maiden chance. A way lot to go but surely he can be a next big bulletin of India. glories T Natrajan.

Yep vikash hopefully he will be given appreciation and chances by India consistently nor he might become another India’s lost hero like karun Nair what are ur thoughts on it vikas

Yes, Karun is a fine batsman but lost his touch due to lack of chances.
I hope Natarajan will get more chances specially in limited overs format.

I know next to nothing about cricket. My son played on his school team and that is the closest I got to it. But I love a story about an athlete who takes risk and in doing so rises up and grasps victory. Great story
