Return of International Cricket in India After Covid – 19

Hello Guys,

So finally after a break of 330 days, International Cricket is back in India as England tour India for 4 Tests, 3 ODI’s and 5 T-20s.

Although, the Covid – 19 Pandemic affected cricket in all parts of the world, it was cricket in India that was affected the most.

Teams like Australia and England started playing International Cricket just after a break of about 3-4 months.

However, Indian Cricketers resumed playing with IPL being hosted in UAE and then went for a long Australian Tour.

Ranji Trophy, India’s most premier domestic tournament, got cancelled for the first time in 87 years.

However, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy was organised successfully by BCCI in the month of January.

No spectators will be allowed in the first two tests being played in Chennai as per Covid – 19 protocols though we might see them back with the 3rd test in Ahmedabad.

This series is quite crucial as it’s result will decide the second finalist for the first ever World Test Championship.

The final will be played at ” Mecca of Cricket ” Lords Cricket Stadium.

New Zealand have sealed the first finalists spot and a good series for India will give them the second spot.

2-0, 2-1, 3-0, 3-1, 4-0

India needs any of the above mentioned results to qualify for the final. Any other result will keep them out of it.

India just had their Grandest Overseas Victory last month but this series is not going to be easy for Indian Team.

Even though they are playing with a stronger XI with only Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammad Shami unavailable, England are much stronger opponent than Australia.

They were the only team to get a test series victory in India in the last decade.

Joe Root looks in sublime form as he got a hundred and a double hundred in the last test series in Sri Lanka.

At the same time, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma must be craving to pile runs as they haven’t got much in the last few months.

Keeping all these things aside, the most important concern for BCCI will be to host this series successfully in the Pandemic conditions.

This will set things straight for the return of International Cricket and future tournaments in India.

Let’s hope cricket will be back in India with full fledge after a gap of almost 11 months.
