Hello Guys,
Lord’s Cricket Ground has witnessed some really amazing games but India’s victory over England in the current series will definitely go down as one of the best games ever played at Lord’s.
Bowling out a champion side like England in less than 60 overs in their own backyard was quite surprising.
Who would have thought a batting line up with modern great Joe Root and batsmen till number 8 will succomb in less than 60 overs.
It was the heroic effort of the complete bowling line up on the fifth day which made this happen.
Team India were on the backfoot after conceeding a lead of 27 runs in the first innings even after putting a healthy total of 364.
For the first four days England looked in control over the game as they got lead in the first innings and then picked up first three wickets in the second innings rather quickly.
It was the partnership between Mohammed Shami (56*) and Jasprit Bumrah (34*) which brought India in the driving seat.

After that it was the fiery bowling from the pace attack which never allowed a single English batsman to settle down on the last day pitch and thus grabbed all the 10 wickets in just 51.5 overs.
This could be termed as a complete team effort as everyone contributed for the team’s cause whenever it needed the most.
KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant contributed in the first innings with the bat.
KL Rahul being the top scorer with 129 runs.
Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara anchored the second innings when the team looked in a spot of bother after losing three quick wickets.
All the four pacers bowled exceedingly well throughout the match and distributed all the 20 wickets among them.
It’s only the third time in history when pacers took all 20 wickets for team India.
Mohammad Siraj was the pick of the bowler claiming 8 important wickets. He’s certainly in a different rhythm now.

Apart from the top-level cricket, there were some incidents of verbal aggression between the two sides.
It all started when Jasprit Bumrah aimed a few bouncers against James Anderson in the first innings.
Some experts believed it was a deliberate strategy to show some aggression rather than straight away looking to take his wicket.
James Anderson was clearly not happy with this and England made sure to bowl some fiery bouncers against the Indian batters in the second innings.

There was constant exchange of words in this innings. India’s skipper Virat Kohli was clearly seen having some fuming conversations with Jimmy Anderson and Olli Robinson.
All these verbal games fired up the energy which was clearly visible when India came to bowl again.
All the four pacers were up to the mark and thus the team registered a rather comfortable victory considering the fact tagt they had only 60 overs to bowl out England.
Team India had one such comeback in the Melbourne Test led by Ajinkya Rahane which allowed the team to eventually win the series.
Ever since the series played in Down Under they have played like champions. The performance, energy and attitude has been really different compared to any normal side.
That’s how Champion sides rule the world!!!
How good was this victory for Team India??

It was certainly an interesting Test to watch and I would never have thought #9 and #10 could put on 90 at Test level!

Exactly!!
It was surreal batting from the Indian Tailenders against a power packed pace line up.

I think I read that Burmah scored more runs that session than he had in his last 30 Tests combined! Crazy days haha

My son as at this match and said he was sitting next so a young man from India. He really enjoyed the match and said he and the Indian fellow had lots of good chats about it. He enjoyed talking with someone who has a good knowledge of the game and also the history of the players and statistics. My son played cricket in school and often goes to see smaller matches than this one.
