Chennai Super Kings, the most consistent IPL team win their 4th IPL Title

Hello Guys,

12 seasons, 11 playoffs and 4 titles….

Numbers are enough to tell us about the consistency of the mighty Chennai Super Kings.

They were the first team to knock out of the tournament last season and what a turn around this has this been.

Whether it’s batting or bowling or fielding, they were a much improved side this season. This made Chennai Super Kings the team to beat this season.

So who were the key stars for CSK this season. Let’s have a look :

1. Ruturaj Gaikwad

The youngest ever orange cap holder in the history of IPL, Ruturaj Gaikwad was really consistent this season.

With 635 runs 1 hundred and 4 fifties in 16 matches, Ruturaj was the player to watch this season.

His incredible performance got him the Emerging Player of the award for this season.

2. Faf du Plessis

The man who missed the orange cap by a whisker, the ex South African Captain piled up 633 runs with a breathtaking 92 in the final.

He consistently gave good starts with Gaikwad in most of the games and thus allowed a strong foundation for CSK in most of the games.

3. Shardul Thakur

Lord Shardul Thakur was as good as his nickname in the tournament.

Shardul Thakur grabbed 21 wickets in IPL 2021 and was the fourth highest wicket taker in the tournament.

He got some crucial wickets of Gill and Rana in the final as well making this easier for CSK.

The best part about this year’s campaign for CSK was the overall contribution from all the players.

While Moeen Ali was really handy with both bat and ball, Josh Hazlewood kept getting them regular wickets throughout the second leg.

Deepak Chahar won a couple of games for them single handedly in the first leg.

Not to forget Sir Ravindra Jadeja, whether it was about getting 37 in a single over against Harshal Patel or getting crucial wickets or grabbing those tough catches in every game he was always there.

But the man who brought all these pearls together to make it a garland and was the leader of the side MS Dhoni.

He kept himself calm as always in the crucial moments making sure that team doesn’t choke under pressure.

In both qualifier 1 & final, CSK was on the back seat but they kept the composure and seized the intense moments for which they are always known for.

Who can forget MS Dhoni against Tom Curran in the last over of first qualifier??

When team needed 13 runs in the last over and he ended up with 3 consecutive fours to get his team through.

This season was full of such crunch moments which CSK didn’t fail to seize and thus went on to lift the prestigious IPL Trophy for the fourth time.

So what was your favourite moment from CSK’s victory ??
