Indian Premier League is all set to witness a huge change.
While we’re accustomed to see the 8-Team format, now we’ll be witnessing how 10 Teams will compete against each other in world’s biggest cricket league.
It’s pretty obvious that players and teams will have to find ways to face this pretty new challenge and overcome it in the 15th edition of Indian Premier League.
So what can we expect from the Mega Auction this year??
Let’s have a look….
1. Emergence of New Leaders
It’s probably the first time in IPL when there are so many vacant captaincy positions.
Teams like RCB, KKR and KXIP are still looking to invest in players who can captain their side.
While Mayank Agarwal can lead the KXIP team, RCB is looking for a new leader as Virat Kohli has resigned as the captain.
Hardik Pandya also has got a chance to showcase his leadership skills at the biggest stage leading the Ahmedabad Team while KL Rahul will now lead the Lucknow Team.
Not just captains, teams are also looking for global players who can bring enough experience in the dugout.
2. More exposure to domestic talent
In the recent past we’ve seen a number of talented players consistently performing at the domestic level but still not getting enough games in the IPL.
Someone as good as Kuldeep Yadav hasn’t got enough games in the last two seasons.
While a lot of promising pacers like Khaleel Ahmed, Ishan Porel, Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Kartik Tyagi are looking for their opportunities.
Young guns like Arshdeep Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Venkatesh Iyer have been retained by their franchisees considering the fact that there would a huge competition on the auction table due to the addition of two new bidders.

3. Shikhar Dhawan
Shikhar has been in sublime form for the last couple of years.
Even though he’s not a regular T-20 batsman for Team India now but still he’s won matches single-handedly for Delhi Capitals.
